Rotary Club of Monterey Scholarship Application for English Studies

This scholarship is funded through a generous grant from the Monterey Peninsula Rotary Club specifically awarded to a Monterey Peninsula local who is under the age of 30. 


This is an application for a one-time scholarship award for the Summer 2019 session of the Intensive English as a Second Language (IESL) program at Middlebury Institute of International Studies. This scholarship will be awarded to a local student ages 16 - 29, and the scholarship will cover the cost of attendance for one course in the IESL program. Scholarship applicants should have aspirations to further their education through community college or a four-year college or university.


This scholarship is for one Intensive ESL class for eight weeks: June 17-August 9, 2019.

This is an application for a one-time, diversity scholarship in the amount of $1,500. This scholarship application will also serve as the fall ESL application. The student must meet the admission requirements of the program in order to be accepted in to the program. Scholarship awards will only be applied once a student has been fully admitted to the IESL program.This scholarship can only be used for the Fall 2018 IESL program session tuition, and it cannot be applied to any other programs or expenses or deferred to a later session. The scholarship award cannot be transferred to anyone, and the award must be used during the Fall 2018 session. If the awardee does not enroll as a student in the IESL program during the Fall 2018 session, the awardee will forfeit this scholarship award. The awardee is responsible for purchasing his/her course books and any other required course materials. The awardee must also meet all school and program policies found in the Student Handbook in order to be eligible to receive this award. The scholarship will be awarded to the student who meets all of the requirements listed in the application and submits the strongest essay response as judged subjectively by the IESL program administration.
